I am most grateful for the terrific turnout we had for our second community outreach effort last Sunday. We had six teams out sharing the Gospel and over a dozen members at the church praying for those teams. We reached 48 homes, had 8 Gospel conversations, shared the plan of salvation 5 times and discovered 5 prospects for our church!
This is the Great Commission in action. As we move forward, we plan to have a door-to-door outreach effort every fifth Sunday. I want to encourage you to be a part of our outreach efforts. Are you inviting your friends and family to come see what God is doing at Tabernacle? Are sharing your faith with the lost?
This Sunday, October 6, we are changing our times for Sunday morning. The start times change to 9:15 for Sunday School and 10:30 for Worship. Reaching our community for Christ is the goal!
Sunday morning, I will be preaching on the Lord’s Supper. This is one of two ordinances that we observe in the church and it is a very significant part of our worship. I am convinced the that the church at large does not give the Lord’s Supper the respect it deserves and that most church members have a very low view of the Supper. As with all of our work and service to the Lord we should give our best effort and dedicate ourselves to a proper biblical understanding of every aspect of our worship.
My goal Sunday morning is to give you an accurate and proper biblical view and understanding of the Lord’s Supper. It is not something we just tack on to the end of a service. It is not something to be taken lightly. I trust that you will join me in preparing your heart to hear about and then participate in the Lord’s Supper. We will actually serve the Lord’s Supper during our evening service at 5:30 pm. Please read First Corinthians 11 in preparation for Sunday.
Looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together.
Blessings, YFJS, Bro Tom
