Pastor's Blog: Rally and Revival!

The events coming this week are significant and very important to the life of our church – please make sure you are present. The 180 Rally with the Old Paths this Friday, February 28, is a tremendous outreach event for our church and it is critical that you be present. Please pray for this event and invite others to come. As you know we are focusing the event toward those who struggle with addictions. All of us know people caught in the grip of sinful addictions and yet there is hope and freedom in Christ. That is the message we will present.

This coming Sunday morning, March 1, we begin Revival services with Pastor Mike Stone of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Blackshear, Georgia. Bro Mike is one of America’s finest preachers and we are very blessed to have him with us. His wife, Andrea, is the daughter of our own Bobby Barnes. Please pray, prepare, and be present for each service. Sunday, we meet at 10:30 and 5:30, and then Monday through Wednesday we will meet at 6:30 pm. We will hear great Bible preaching and Bro. Kenny has lined up outstanding gospel music. It will be a tremendous time in the Lord. Invite the lost, bring your friends and family, and let’s have a hallelujah time at TBC!

Don’t forget, March is “Prove the Tithe Month!” We are challenging each member of the church to commit to tithe for one month – let’s believe God and see what He can do. “'And try Me now in this,' Says the LORD of hosts,” (Mal. 3:10).

Our new G.R.O.W. ministry training is off to a great start. On Sunday night we had 25 people sign up to serve on a G.R.O.W. team. My goal is that this will truly be an “every member” ministry. Enrollment cards are on the Lord’s Supper table. Please take one, fill it out, and place it in the blessing bucket. We are asking you to commit to one night or afternoon a month. There are places to serve other than going on visitation. Please prayerfully consider your participation in G.R.O.W. and help us reach our new Sunday School attendance of goal of 150 by the end of the year.

As always, I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together.

Blessings, YFJS, Bro. Tom
