Pastor's Blog: Daniel and Current Issues

Our first in-person worship was wonderful! It was great to see folks we’ve not been able to see other than at a great distance. Thank you for your cooperation with our safety plans. Our goal is to keep everyone as safe as possible. We want you to come back to in-person worship. I sincerely believe that it is safe to do so. However, if you feel that your health is in danger, we understand. Our services will continue to be live streamed on Facebook. We should all pray that the Coronavirus will come to an end. Please continue to watch our “Welcome Home” page on the website for details.

If you were not able to join us for worship last Sunday, I do want to encourage you to listen to the service or view it on our You Tube page. The message was from Psalm 122, titled “The Joy of Worship Together.” David said, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord.’” The value of the church gathered for worship should be an even greater concern for us in these difficult days.

This coming Sunday we will start a new series in the Book of Daniel. It is very appropriate in that current issues have many considering that maybe those issues portend the end of time. What I can tell you is that while Daniel gives us a great prophetic look at the future it primarily tells us how to live a godly life in the midst of a corrupt and dying world. I think we can all agree that is very much needed in the present chaos. Please read through the book of Daniel. Pray and prepare for God to speak to us through this great book.

We are having a great time with our Wednesday night prayer service live on Facebook at 7 pm. The Q&A on the Bible with Pastor Tom has been interesting and I believe we are learning a lot. Please join us on Facebook live for this important time of prayer and study, and please send in your questions!

We are considering a return to in-person prayer meeting on Wednesday, July 1, and having our MFL men’s Bible study in the building on July 5. We are praying about when and how to restart our small groups.

As always, I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together – once again, in-person!

Blessings, YFJS, Bro. Tom
