Pastor's Blog: COVID-19!

What a year 2020 was. I’m glad it’s in the rearview mirror, but its pain seems to be lingering on. I’m sure you’ve heard by now that I have come down with COVID-19. My symptoms have been minor compared to many, and I’m grateful for God’s grace and the prayers of His people on my behalf. I’m feeling some better today (day six of symptoms) but will need to remain quarantined for the next week or so.

I’m so grateful for Pastor Landon and Pastor Kenny filling in for the preaching. They have done a masterful job with the texts they have chosen to preach, and we are greatly blessed to have both of these fine men on our staff. [If you miss a sermon, please remember that all of our sermons can be accessed by audio here: https://www.tbcmacon.com/sermons]

On January 17 we will have prayer emphasis with Mark Mirza of Common Thread Ministries. Mark is one of America’s leading experts on prayer and I am so grateful that he was available to come and share with us on this date. Please make whatever effort you need to make to be present on Sunday, January 17. Brother Mark is a personal friend, and I know that he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to prayer. For over six years now Mark and I have been praying together on a weekly basis. I believe your prayer life could be revitalized. Our church needs that!

I am very much looking forward to things getting back to normal as I am sure you are. One of the things that we must understand is that God has a purpose in all things. Romans 8:28 is operative all the time. And God is good all the time! We must continue to trust Him and press forward for the sake of the Kingdom.

As always, I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together!

Blessings, YFJS, Bro. Tom
