I want to express my appreciation to all those who have made our drive-in services so successful. Of note are Chris and Lisa Johnson, Kenny Wells, Landon Crenshaw, and Lydia Holloman, along with many of our deacons who have secured and worked the parking lot, along with so many other things. As I mentioned Sunday, Terry Bryant has done a lot of work around the building to help us get ready for the upcoming in-person worship.
We are back to church in-person in the worship center this Sunday, June 7, at 10:30 am. We have a “Welcome Home” page on the website that will give the details. For the latest updates please check this page: https://www.tbcmacon.com/welcomehome
If you are uncomfortable coming inside for worship at this point we understand. We will continue to provide alternatives. The service will still be broadcast in the area of the church on AM 1610. This means you could remain in the parking lot and hear the service over the radio. We will also continue live streaming on Facebook. We have made tremendous strides in improving our streaming on both video and audio counts.
This coming Sunday, Lord willing, I will be preaching from Psalm 122. The message is titled “The Joy of Worship Together.” David said, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord.’” Amen! I am so grateful we are going to be able to worship together. Please pray and prepare your heart to hear from the Lord. We will hold the Lord’s Supper as part of our return to church.
I also need to ask that as you please cooperate with our rules for protecting everyone’s health. Touchless hand sanitizers will be available, along with touchless soap dispensers in the rest rooms. The “Welcome Home” page has all the details. Please, no hugs or handshakes. The doors will be propped open, please leave them that way. Our deacons and greeter team will assist you as needed. When you arrive please go directly to the worship center and find a seat. You may sit with members of your own household, but please maintain the six-foot social distancing rule with others. Thank you so much for understanding and cooperating.
We are considering a return to in-person prayer meeting on Wednesday, July 1. We praying about when and how to restart our small groups.
We are having a great time with our Wednesday night prayer service live on Facebook at 7 pm. The Q & A on the Bible with Pastor Tom has been interesting and I believe we are learning a lot. Please join us on Facebook live for this important time of prayer and study.
As always, I am looking forward to what God will do at Tabernacle this coming Sunday. Please be present with your Bibles in hand as we worship the Lord together – in-person!
Blessings, YFJS, Bro. Tom
