YOURS FOR JESUS’ SAKE…
A WORD FROM BROTHER TOM ….
Good day Church! We had a wonderful time of worship last Sunday and I am very grateful for the opportunity God has given me to serve as your Interim Pastor. If you were not able to attend last Sunday, I want to encourage you to take time to view the service and listen to the message, “The Impossible Possibility,” from Matthew 19:26. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc0KH3_fAy35lyHRzEhy3sw (Please “subscribe” to our page on You Tube.)
If you have a pastoral need please call the office and set up an appointment with our Administrative Assistant, Miss Lydia. As a general rule I will be available on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons for counseling or other needs.
I believe God has great things in store for Tabernacle Baptist Church! Together we are going to work hard to make a positive impact on our community, and to win souls for Christ. Our church motto is one that all of us should be able to embrace: God-Glorifying, Bible-Centered, Disciple-Making. That really covers the basics of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.
My blog for TBC will be called “Yours for Jesus’ Sake,” taken from Second Corinthians 4:5, where Paul speaks of himself as a servant to the church for the sake of the Lord Jesus. That is my desire as I serve TBC as pastor. You will see the acronym, YFJS, on much of my correspondence – now you know what it means.
I am praying that you will make every effort to be present for worship this Sunday morning. I am going to be preaching a message on “The Judgment Seat of Christ,” from Second Corinthians 5:8-11. Have you given much thought to standing before the Lord Jesus in judgment? Many Christians are anxious about that event, even to the point of being fearful.
Be encouraged dear Believer, there is much hope for our appearance before the Lord. Many are unaware of what the Bible teaches about this event. It is my desire to equip you with knowledge and encourage you with wisdom, regarding this most solemn event.
I will speak to our ambition, our attitude, and our action, in light of the coming judgment. Are you ready to stand before the Lord? Do you know what will happen? Will you be shamed by God in front of others over your sinful life on earth? Will you be exposed for your hypocrisy and failures? I believe you will be both humbled and surprised to learn the truth about the Judgment Seat of Christ. Please don’t miss the service! Invite others to join you. It will be a high and holy day of worship. Bro Kenny has planned some outstanding worship music. Pray that God will both show up and show out. To God be the Glory, great things He hath done!
See you Sunday, YFJS, Bro Tom
