The July 18th sermons deals with the subject of temptation, specifically as it relates to three areas of temptation:

1. The lust of the flesh

2. The lust of the eyes

3. The pride of life

For our three days of devotions, focus on the list above (one area of temptation per day). Spend some time discussing the following each day:

• How does this area of temptation connect to Genesis 3:6 and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?

• Which of the three temptations in Matthew 4:1-11 (or Luke 4:1-13) demonstrate this area of temptation?

• What lessons can be learned from how Jesus responded to this area of temptation?
