DAY 1
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 11:1-3
DISCUSSION: What does it mean to take refuge “in the Lord?” What does this imply concerning how we at times take refuge in people and things other than God Himself? How can you make sure you are relying on the Lord alone?
SONG: “You Are My All in All” by Dennis Jernigan
DAY 2
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 11:4-7
DISCUSSION: Discuss all that this verse tells us about God’s person and work. Who is God, according to this passage? What does He do? How should we respond in light of who He is (consider verse 7)?
SONG: “Holy, Holy, Holy” by John Bacchus Dykes & Reginald Heber
DAY 3
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 46
DISCUSSION: This was our Scripture reading on Sunday, and it connects to the idea of taking refuge in God alone. Study and discuss the phrase “Be still, and know that I am God” (v. 10). What does that verse reveal about God and how we should respond to Him? How does knowing who He is impact how we respond when facing trials and persecution?
SONG: “Before the Throne of God Above” by Charitie Lees Bancroft & Vikki Cook
