DAY 1

• SCRIPTURE: 1 Timothy 6:6-10

• DISCUSSION: In this passage, Paul wrote: “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” Do you think most Christians see the value of godliness with contentment? Do you personally view it as “great gain?” Why or why not? How can you foster contentment in your own life?

DAY 2

• SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 30:7-9

• DISCUSSION: In this passage, the writer (Agur son of Jakeh) asks that God give him just the right amount of wealth that he needs. He doesn’t want to be poor or rich. What are the reasons he gives for not wanting either poverty or great wealth? Have you seen the two dangers he mentioned in v. 9?

• SCRIPTURE: Psalm 16:11

• DISCUSSION: Consider the “fullness of joy” and “pleasures forevermore” that await the believer in Christ’s presence in heaven. How should that motivate us to be content in all the circumstances of life?
