Day 1
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:1-3
Discussion: The opening verses in 1 Corinthians function as a standard greeting in this letter to the church in Corinth. However, it is not a formality as there is great doctrinal truth contained in these verses. Why is it important that the church is referred to as “those sanctified in Christ Jesus?” What does it mean to “be saints together?” What does it signify that Paul connects the church in Corinth to others “who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ?” Discuss how that phrase relates to regenerate church membership (the doctrine that the church is made up only of born-again followers of Jesus Christ).

Day 2
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:4-7
Discussion: Spend some time discussing how God’s grace operates in the life of the believer. Pray and ask the Lord that the members of our church may be “enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge.” What does it mean that “you are not lacking in any gift?” Does that phrase refer to an individual member or the church as a whole?

Day 3
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:8-9
Discussion: How does the Lord sustain us, and how will He present us guiltless when He comes again as Judge during the Second Coming? Spend some time thanking God the Father for His faithfulness to us and the fact that we have fellowship with God in and through Jesus Christ.
